About Gigi

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Chelmsford, Gigi entered college, torn between her passion for art, and the excitement of technology. After much debate the decision to enrol in the bilingual data processing program was made.

Life continued with Gigi getting married and moving to Terrace Bay where she worked as a computer technologist, raised 2 children, and fought to find time to practice her art. A few years ago, fate brought her back to her home town where she continues to work full-time as a technologist.

It wasn’t long before she noticed all the artistic opportunities in the Greater Sudbury area and her passion could no longer be tamed. Balancing her career, her family and all of life’s hectic responsibilities, Gigi has embraced every artistic endeavour that crossed her path. In search of her own true voice, she continues to experiment with all forms of art, continuing her education and learning new styles of expression. She has entered numerous exhibitions in the area, and has won awards for her artwork. Gigi is a member of the Rayside-Balfour Whitewater Brush and Palette Art Club, the Sudbury Art Club, and the Sudbury Art Council.

Experiments with oil, acrylic, watercolour, sketching, drawing, air-brushing, stained glass, poetry, collage, wax resist, photography and digital photo editing, have all been tried and enjoyed. Weekend and week-long workshops, art books, magazines, television programs, documentaries, art galleries and exhibitions have all contributed to developing one skill or another.

Recently, Gigi established “Images & Reveries”, a website to showcase her varied styles of artwork. You will find it at:

She continues to exhibit her work regularly, and in addition has started selling prints of her art on the Fine Arts America website

Nature, love, beauty, and serendipity, provide the inspiration.

Practice, curiosity, and muse, helps guide the brush.

Her lifelong desire for creative expression was summed up in a magazine article she stumbled upon: Artists are artists because they can’t help it – they just are and they do art for the love of it or because they can’t stop themselves. – Robert Bateman.
